Words from your class - Mexico 09

Dear Mexico Team
As a senior class preparing to go to Mexico, we have the opportunity to not only impact lives for the Kingdom, but to also become spiritually equipped as the leaders of our school. The trip's date and overall purpose has changed from what it was originally, and I am convinced that God has far greater plans for this trip than we could ever ask, think, or imagine. With the trip's alterations, I also know that Satan is trying his best to discourage students from going for various reasons, including but not limited to: finances, H1N1, and a lack of passion. But if we call ourselves followers of Christ and we claim to be going to CCA for the sole purpose of becoming prepared “to glorify God spiritually, academically, and socially,” what will it take for us to put into action all of the Christian truths that have been instilled in us for so long? We must overcome our spiritual apathy and stop making excuses to avoid Christ's heavy call on each of our lives to serve Him by clothing the naked and feeding the hungry, wherever they might be. I know that God will reveal Himself to those who are continually seeking Him, so we must be in prayer this last month before we leave. You can invest in this trip and in what God is going to do through us by attending the weekly prayer meetings in the North Banquet Hall every Monday during lunch, participating in the outreaches planned for our class, and coming to the prayer and worship gatherings at Rebecca Urrutia's home. In addition, continue to lift up your classmates in prayer—those who are going as well as those who are not. Pray that God would reveal your passions and what His plans are for you personally this trip. As a class, we must come together and be united in our one passion to serve God. Acts 2:46-47 provides a perfect picture of what this should like. “Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” God desires to use us but are we making ourselves available?

Love,
Danielle
